Something Good Bread

If, well really I should say when, when you make pizza tarts and you want to use that second half of the dough you should follow my family's tradition and make Something Good Bread for breakfast the next morning.  This bread came about as just an idea for using leftover pizza dough and making a sweet bread.  My children chose the name for this recipe, in case you were wondering.

Yummy, Something Good Bread.

Ingredients for this recipe are: 1/2 pizza dough (recipe found here), 1 stick of butter, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 cup white sugar, 1 cup turbinado sugar (brown sugar can be substituted).

Place cinnamon and sugar in small bowl.

 Stir with fork.

Butter a bundt pan.  Try saying that three times fast.

Create quarter size dough balls.   Roll in cinnamon and sugar...

...and place in buttered bundt pan.  I love the name bundt pan.   I always think of a great scene in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," you should watch it just for the bundt pan scene.  Allow to rest in a warm place until doubled in size.

Preheat oven to 350 Fahrenheit

Cut butter into 1/4 in slices and melt in a small sauce pan.

Add turbinado or brown sugar, cook over a medium low flame.

It will begin to look like this, bubbling away.  Stir with a wooden spoon.

When it looks like this, a beautiful caramel color and smell, you are done.  Not quite
soft ball stage (235-245 Fahrenheit).

Pour sauce over dough balls,  place pan on middle rack in oven and bake for 20-30 minutes.

Remove pan when golden brown on top, look at that shiny beautiful bread.

Place bundt pan on large plate and flip over to remove the Something Good Bread for eating.  It was really Something Good...Bread.

Enjoy!
